I've always enjoyed the "sex appeal" of the Energy ROMs, but I've had the best MMS success with the OMJ ROMs, plus reasonable free memory.

It's great to see someone still supporting the dusty, creaky, ol' Diamond, though! I'm glad SOMEBODY with the time and know-how to cook ROMs hasn't abandoned those of us either stuck in contracts or too broke to upgrade to a TP2/EVO/HD2/etc...

Thanks O.a.T., and I look forward to using this ROM in the near future!

Just a heads up re: MMS. I don't include ArcSoft MMS in the rom because of the (old?) problems associated with it. I've been using SprintMail, which I install via cab into the storage card and have been quite satisfied with it, although admittedly I don't rec'v much MMS.

Re: upgrading. I'm actually eligible to upgrade one of my phones now, but a) I still really like my Diamond, and b) I'm not sure I'd get the relative value out of an EVO that I get w/the Diamond.

Glad you like it.

Re:MaxSense. I believe MaxSense 1.05 beta is out now to the beta testers, so 1.05 final should be out very soon. Then, I'll probably wait a few days to see about bugs and fixes.

2189x is windows mobile 6.5 and looks more like 6.1.

The 23xxx one is 6.5.x and has the start button at the bottom left in the softkeybar.

6.5.x (23541), with the start button on the bottom, is supposed to be a bit more finger friendly than 6.5 (21895) which has the start button on the top. I used to use 6.5 when I was on my custom Titanium ROM with SPB Mobile Shell. SPB MS used the bottom bar for some of it's icons/features, which is why I went the 6.5 route. I used SPB MS in the earlier stages of Sense 2.5 porting and I wanted something better than the original Sprint/Rhodium Manila.

Hard for me to tell if there really was any difference in speed between 6.5 and 6.5.x; maybe a very slight edge with 6.5. Never did see any bug reports on either sys, so you can assume they are equally bug free.

It's possible. Just picked up Programtix's most recent release of 2016 this morning. You willing to be the proverbial "guinea pig"? The only thing I'd ask is a thorough report as possible in terms of functionality, speed, etc., compared to 2012.

2.5.2016/23541 rom

Well, I just built and flashed a 2.5.2016/23541 ROM. Little bit scary since it actually seems to be working very well; no problems with any of the tabs. My hat is off to Programatix.

Now for a few observation. The first thing you won't notice is much difference in the size of the rom; only about .12 MB smaller. On a soft reset, free memory is at approximately 80.8/105.5 MB for Storage/Program with nothing extra installed. Maybe seems a little quicker on start up and maybe a little smoother on the slide bar than 2012. But that may just be because it's been so long that I used a straight Sense ROM; i.e., no SPB MS or Co0kie or MaxSense. The available 12 quick links on the home tab are very nice. Not much more to say about it, and that's probably the best news possible - no bad news.

I'll probably be loading up the rest of my apps and gui modifications today and see how it goes over the next few hours. If there are no deal breakers, everyone should see a very light 2.5.2016/23541 and a very light 2.5.2016/21895 in the next day or so.
