Well Here is it, my FIRST rom release I decided to dub ShadowRom. Thanks go out to OMJ for the kitchen, Calkulin (Since its based on his kitchen) Mystery (for a few of his tweaks), Trident and Mr. Obvious (for the assistance i needed) and O.a.T because he is just really helpful ;-)

First things first, this rom does not have MS cooked in (cabs included however, trail versions) I simply put that screenshot there because well I made the rom for SPB MS. However I do believe SPB MS works better when installed from a cab than when cooked in a rom for various reasons. (Mobile Shell cab and Mobile Sense UI cab included, Sense UI must be installed over Mobile Shell.)

This rom is very light weight, really fast. Lots of free space and ram (stays around 37, 38% while running Mobile Shell).

Question - How do you like SPB Mobile Shell? I only ask because I am still unsure if I really like it yet. I never seem to beable to keep myself using it.

Is it really really better than Manila? Looking for your input since I am going to try it agian.

Also.. do you use the default theme or install your own for SPB?

Me personally, I like it better than Manila, its faster and more responsive to me, only downside is that its hard to cook Mobile Shell in with a rom and get it to work correctly. So you still have to install with the cab speaking of which, I may update the zip above and include the cab in it.

But overall, like I said before its faster and more responsive, and as far as customization wise you can do more with it than manila, especially is you you use the Shell Extensions.

As far as themes go, I usually just position the icons how I want them and change the background, however there is a theme for it called Mobile Sense that mimics android, and it looks pretty good as well ;-) I can upload that to if you would like.

Thank you sir, I've been kinda waiting around for another Titanium ROM. I might try mobile shell, but I'm really more of a titanium guy now, I think. My phone seems to use less battery and stays more responsive since I stopped using Manila/Sense.

Copycat hehe. Actually it looks like you got a lot of what I got in my ROM so now that I'm kinda leaving the Diamond section it will be perfect for those users of mine wanting updates.

I noticed the PagePool setting is 18MB. I've been setting it higher, usually 24MB. I wonder, is there any advantage to using a lower setting?

hey. i am using this rom, spb shell pwns. been smooth so far, but i am wondering if mobile sense is worth switching over to. will the uninstall of spb shell be smooth or leave the phone a little bugged up. what are the main advantages of mobile sense because this thing is pretty friggin pimpin smooth.

also, do these shells only work with 6.1 windows? i hate the top start button.

1) I have had no problem after uninstalling spb shell. Just do a soft reset after uninstalling and you should be fine.

2) You install mobile sense on top of SPB Shell. See...

3) Only 6.5.x roms have the start button on the bottom. As stated in post 1 of this thread, Sys 21887 is 6.5 so start button at the top.

Well this is how it was explained to, me I'm still a little shaky on it too, but 18MB & 20MB page pools have been faster in my experience,

But anyway, I was told that usually the higher the page pool the faster the rom however, if your page pool is to high the processor will end up working harder/more to allocate a higher amount of space then it would if the page pool was a bit smaller.

So the higher the page pool the faster the rom but if you go to high it will began to slow it down. (i don't know if I explained that right but its along those lines I believe)

Widget wise, Mobile Sense does have a bigger variety so it is more customizable but overall it just looks better in my opinion. When dealing with the amount of pages you can have mobile sense does give you the option of having 5 lifestyle pages and 5 professional pages.

Only con to me really is that it takes more ram to run but that the only negative than I know.

And as O.a.T stated you have to install Mobile Sense over Mobile Shell

They work but the last time I used mobile shell on a 6.5.x rom is was MS 3.5.1 and the buttons on the bottom interfered with the bottom bar on mobile shell, MS 3.5.3 may have fixed it though, I'm not to sure as i haven't went back to 6.5.x

Well I got my hands on the 21888 and 21889 sys so I am going to be testing those tonight and maybe releasing an update soon if they check out.

Shadow, I'm still new to this, but you state in the 1st post to do "Clear Storage" after the flash, what is that exactly and what will it clear out?

Just trying to help out here. Clear Storage does a "wipe" of ram, and optionally, of internal storage. You get to by

Programs>>Settings>>System>>Clear Storage

I'm loading this now. Mr.Obvious ROM "just" expired. Was gonna clear storage, but decided to try yours.

Can you link a good Opera cab?

Can we PLEASE not have the start menu in organized folders? I hate trying to decide what things I need and what category they might be in.

Otherwise, I haven't really started using it yet, will let you know. (I'm using the one from 1-14 fyi)

I think the only cab you'll need to change is the MS cab that didn't expire. Just replace it with the trail version and if the people like it they'll buy it. Or just update at least every 14 days. :)

Re: Good Opera cab. Here are 2 for your consideration. Some like the new Opera 10 Beta, while others prefer an earlier version. Have had good results with both the attached.

Re: "Dis"organized folders. You can "disorganize" to your liking by syncing with your computer and maneuvering to the "Windows>>Start Menu>>Programs" directory of the phone and proceed as you choose.
