Re: sprint needs to lower their phone prices
Best Buy. That's really the way to go as they give you the phone at the price which includes the rebate. So the Hero there is 179 if you qualify for the 150 2 yr upgrade and your plan allows the Hero.

Re: sprint needs to lower their phone prices
cause best buy prolly trys to make up the cost buy using their insurance plan.. plus best buy charges u 30 something activation fee..etc..( prolly way off on that )... i hate going into best buy some of those guys are lacking in the brain dept.lol I used to love going to best buy back bout 10 years ago. they had a wider selection of things good prices and i could shop without being asked can i help u.. ( which in reality they cant even answer some of my questions ) so no leave me alone to shop and i dont want your stupid warranty.lol

Re: sprint needs to lower their phone prices
ill never shop at best buy, i had too many issues with them last year. now that compusa and circuit city are gone they are all that is around me, no real competition out there. plus the fact best buy employees are totally clueless tech wise.

Re: sprint needs to lower their phone prices
I think Best Buy gets some sort of credit for every contract renewal they lock-up from carriers. So they take a hit on the phone, but probably come out ahead.
Also, the $20 activation fee appears on your next Sprint bill, so I don't believe that money goes to Best Buy. Sometimes they have the best deals on phones. Couple weeks back I got my mom a BlackBerry Curve on contract for $20 out the door.

Re: sprint needs to lower their phone prices
Sprint phones are pricey because the rates are cheaper. Compare the monthly rate plans with any other carrier and you will see what I mean. In the long run you will save money. The only fee you pay at Best Buy is Sprint's $18 renewal fee, which if you're a premier customer they waive. But no mail in rebates with Best Buy and a lot of times the phone prices are cheaper.

Re: sprint needs to lower their phone prices
When the TP was brand new, BB had the best prices by far. I bought mine on launch day for $220.

Agreed. I paid something like $250 out the door. They even had a promotion going and gave me a free 2gb SD card.
