Once its done. Yes, 100mb d/l speeds, yahdi, yahda, yahda. Both Verizon(CDMA) and AT&T(GSMA) will share the same network for the first time ever. Options to get i-phones and Bolds over to CDMA. Excluding Sprint for now, they are keeping their options open:

Its like Sprint now: "Largest and most dependable 3G network in America"

Ahh.... no not really, only largest in square footage for coverage. Verizon has the upper hand in subscribers and depedability..

Cities to get 4G next aside from B-more in 2009

Atlanta/Honolulu/Charlotte/Las Vegas/Chicago/Philadelphia/Dallas/Portland/Fort Worth/Seattle

Sprint also expects to launch service in multiple markets in 2010 including Boston, Houston, New York, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.

Its all Marketing. Dan is a smart, smart man. Whose to blame him...

A few irregularities i've noticed here...

1. Verizon currently runs CDMA, ATT Currently runs GSM. LTE is a GSM based standard. LTE is in no way CDMA, as there will be other revisions of CDMA that do not pertain to LTE whatsoever. Nonetheless, Verizon and ATT with both be using a GSM based standard called LTE.
2. As far as i know, verizon does have the largest coverage... but the real problem is that each company has a very very vague way of defining these terms and the only thing that really matters to most people is that there is good coverage where they reside.
3. As of right now, the only two cities that have WiMax are Portland Oregon and Baltimore Maryland(Portland Oregon is still not completely finished but they consider it a network). They have not really been very straight forward with when those other cities will have WiMax...

Not just those two, there are more cities that just 2 that are up an running its just not an officially set rollout.

I used one of the WiMax devices (Nokia N810) from Baltimore Harbor Gallery *3 months ago* & I can confirm 4G is running very well in Philadelphia on XOHM's 4G WiMax network, I was told its working as far up as New York but I can't confirm NYC since I didn't go/live there.
