Re: Sprint/Verizon Merg?
There is no way that the FCC would allow such a Merger ... If sprint were to go under, they would likely be acquired by T-Mobile or split up amongst the smaller regional carriers. Verizon is the nations largest provider, followed now by AT&T.

Re: Sprint/Verizon Merg?
Sprint and Verizon are the two biggest providers. this cant and wont happen, if anything thing i think at&t will merge with sprint and so on. Sprint and Verizon would create too much of a monopoly.

Re: Sprint/Verizon Merg?
All this bad talk abou VZW, I guess I'm just lucky they're the best here. (although I am pretty pi**ed about our gimped Touch Pro's) :)

Re: Sprint/Verizon Merg?
If Sprint and Verizon merged, then that would be considered a monopoly, as there would only be one major CDMA Provider available...Then, you also have metroPCS, etc...but indeed, the FCC would go apesheet. lol

Re: Sprint/Verizon Merg?
Sprint/Comcast makes a LOT more sense. Really.
VZ has home, cell and broadband, att has home, cell broadband and tv, comcast has broadband and home, broadband, tv, no cell and sprint has... cell. |

Re: Sprint/Verizon Merg?
This would not be a bad idea if, Sprint handled pricing and devices, and Verizon handled the cell towers...

Re: Sprint/Verizon Merg?
This would never happen. AT&T nor Verizon would be allowed to purchase sprint from the FCC without a major sell-off nor would they want to. Sprint is horribly upside down and would not be a sensible business move. Also, there would be no use for the IDEN Nextell nor wi-max network as AT&T and VZW have committed to going to LTE for 4G so adopting the infastructure would be of little value as well other than the cdma/pcs band for VZW which the FCC would decline in many areas due to too much spectrum depth. More than likely Sprint will go belly up if it fully fails rather than be bought out by one of the other big boys.
