Uh... I never used TEP, and paid my $55 to exchange my mogul for a TP via the website.
The bump in TEP has nothing to do with this little game. The bump in TEP was planned for over a year @ sprint.
The issue with TEP, as I understand it from insiders, is that people who have TEP on average exchange their phones 3-4 times a year. The bump is designed to encourage people to be a bit more careful, or if not to cover some of the costs for folks who exchange phones like underwear.
Now, me personally, I will not likely need a new phone for a couple years and will just buy the next one like I bought the others. Sprint gets nearly a thousand dollars a year off my service, and 3 handsets every couple years. I'm sure they're not losing money on me.
