If Sprint were to get bought out, I doubt it would be by a domestic company.

Sprint: Moody’s Downgrades Debt To Junk

Posted by Eric Savitz
Moody’s today downgraded Sprint Nextel’s (S) senior unsecured debt to a non-investment grade Ba2 from Baa3 - in other words, Sprint’s debt has been downgraded to junk bond status. Moody’s also assigned the company a corporate family rating of Ba1, which is non-investment grade as well.
Moody’s said the downgrade reflect a “significantly weakened market position among the national wireless carriers and its continuing challenges in turning around its wireless operations amid intense competition and weak economic conditions.”
Sprint shares are down 30 cents, or 12.33%, to $2.12.

Sprint will pull through... They are circling the wagons... Cut what is losing money (Nextel and the iDen network) and look at emerging markets and future growth.. Wi-Max has great growth potential... I think they should have gone to LTE, as I like global standards and ease of switching phones, but if Sprint can grow Wi-Max nationally like they did with their 3G network, I think they will be fine... Sprint has to expand Wi-Max fast... If Wi-Max goes the way HD DVD's went, then Sprint will fail...

I'm thinking positive, I have been seeing more commercials where they are comparing the prices between them, AT&T and VZW

At $2.42 Sprint stock is a bargain. Might be a good idea to buy some while it's cheap and sit on it till it's worth something. Hmmm....

This news sucks.. I'm new to Sprint as of about 8 months ago, and after dealing with Tmobile and AT&T.. Sprint is a breath of fresh air.. from CS to their pricing plans. I think the touch HD/4gmax(sprint technology) could help alot if they got a contract.. pull alot of Iphone users away.. especially with the 99 unlimited plan. Same plan for the iphone is $150 a month.

Whatever :) I bought Sprint @ 6.49, Doubled down around 3.6, bought more @ 1.50, and sold half when it went to 2.70 the other day. I think my cost basis is around 3.25.

Frankly I don't know how long Sprint can make it. They sell all their towers for 600 million and lease them back, they spinoff their wimax future so for all intents and purposes they are the largest MVNO out there

I only say this to warn others out there that there is alot of downside as well as upside even at this price of 2.0 . In fact to contnue the report that JimD started, the analyst believes Sprint will Underperform and fair market value is $1

Looking back, I shouldnt have bought stock in a company that would give me such a lucrative retentions deal.
