Not anymore. It was previously a co-venture between Sprint and Virgin Atlantic but they got spun off last summer and is now an independent company. But I do believe it still uses Sprint towers in many places.

Im sorry but if you loose 1.3 million customers in the 4th quater ..YOU ARE IN BIG TRUBLE.... not even talking about 14% fall of ernings ....VERY BAD..

i work with sprint suits all day long and my company was one that dropped sprint mainly because they could not provide demo phones and their customer service sucks ....

the only thing keeping sprint fromn falling is the land line service they have ..( they own about 40% of all the backbone hard lines in this country ) and the WIMAX is about to go under as they have newer more advance systems coming out ...

You don't know what you're talking about. Sprint does NOT own a single landline, that operation was spun off and is now called Embarq.

Sprint will be fine long term but they need to stop losing post-pay (contract) customers. Their customer service is horrid, and yet they seem to do nothing about it. I will say my last in-store interaction with Sprint was a positive experience, so maybe it is getting better.

Sprint's long term plan is to sell the iDen (Nextel) network to someone else, there has been some interest but that was before the credit crunch; I expect there will be an announcement sometime next year once the markets recover. Buying Nextel was a mistake and a purely defensive measure to keep from getting bought out by Verizon in a move to counter the merger between AT&T-Cingular.

Honestly, Sprint needs a board of outside advisers that can evaluate the company from a distance and help them out, especially in marketing.

Yes i agree with some of this. sprint is practically giving its iden network to the government for 2 billion there just keeping it quite. They bought nextil not to counter verizon but made a bad move period. they thought everyone was intrested in iden and qchat technologies they were wrong. They have lost there wireless focus and we all know this. they need to just push phones like verizon does. and Dan Hesse has it all wrong . He made a comment that android isnt good enough for sprint yet. Ya and the instinct was? thats garbage just ask anyone.

push more phones work on customer service later. just my thought. I mean if there going to be out sourcing there customer service to over seas companys why waist the money training non americans how to talk to amaricans, just push phones grab anything they can get there hands on people will flock. get the touch HD and the pharos and the omnia HD . they just need to think cause they stoped about 4 years ago. :scratch:

Just give us better phones and alot more of them....
