I called Sprint to see if my job qualified for a employer discount. I told them the company I worked for and they said they found no matches for it. After we got off the phone she called me back and said she found one for a 27% discount.

once I got the Email I noticed she had just approved a discount for me due to a typo.

another words i'm getting a discount for a company I don't work for.

Should I speak up or just act like I don't know and get my discount, they arn't going to like check up on where I work are they?

Personally, I wouldn't do it, but that's me. Though if you search in the VIP forum for threads started by me, I started one a few years ago for 17% off, which recently went to 19% off all services. It is for family and friends, so it will work for you and is legit. The difference in the 8% is up to you.

@rainfreak that's a very informative sig u got there. pretty much every other site is biased towards the iPhone tho.

Yeah, you picked up on that? It's kind of the point, you know?

Apple users should go where other Apple users are, to get information on their products without being questioned, bashed, dogged or belittled by a user of another device. As of recently, PPCG has not been that place, though they are trying to right that wrong.

You'll likely see more of what I am talking about on that front coming soon.

rainfreak it's a good idea to shift people towards sites that have better support for their phones. i think you guys should do this for the webos/palm, iphone and blackberry sections here. make this site strictly android and wp7.... i guess have a limited section for winmo too but it appears there is not much demand for that anymore. you guys have got to look to the future of this site.

to the OP, i would just not say anything and keep the discount. there was a thread here years back that showed people how to get a discount and i used it and said i worked for citibank and i had the full 27% discount for over 3 years and they never even questioned it. again it all depends on your morals.

haha, well coming from a $50 unlimited everything plan and moving to a new $90+ plan, I think i'll welcome the discount

worst comes to worst.. they would just catch it and say
"HEY... tsktsk"
My moms got a sero 500 plan just like me and recently bought a "smartphone"
Its a motorola titanium. Its not been out but like 3 or 4 months I think but its still running android 2.1

Its a direct connect phone so it will never be upgraded past android 2.1 because froyo cant connect to the prouper signals (from what I read) to use the walkie talkie feature.

That being said, it wanst fully activated because the sprint people couldnt access her sero account, in a corpret store mind you, so its not fully functional.
But the only thing that doesnt work is texting because her texts are being sent the the "active" phone according to sprints site.

She came from a moto i780, and since they are all sim activated she just swapped her sim like befor and the phone activated.
But on sprints end it still shows the i780. And because it is a "smartphone" they didnt activate it because they cant athorize the change in the system to make her account a sero premium.

So she said she will save 10 bucks off a bill and sacrifce texting lol
she can call, browse the web, dc anyone, send and recieve emails so shes content with that.

The rep I spoke with on the phone told us that if we can live with out her being able to text then she recomended us just leaving it that way and not to worry about it.

So I spoke to people in sprint about the fact that we wernt paying the additional 10 bucks for the smartphone fee and they pretty much said power to you
