MEID Wiped
I apologize if this isn't the right forum for this question. I got my phone messed up by the most recent update for EVO. I was able to restore it by running an RUU but apparently something wiped my MEID and username on my phone. I took it to a Sprint store and they couldn't restore it. They told me to go back when the main tech person is there.
Is there a way to restore this info? Can I call Sprint customer service and ask for my MEID? |
Have you tried updating your profile? You may want to post your question in the evo forum for a better response.

Thank you for your answer. Yes, I tried updating profile, updating PRL but nothing works. I also tried resetting through ##3282# and ##786# as customer service told me. Apparently the phone can't communicate with Sprint because the it lost its identity (MEID and username). That's what they told me at the store.
I posted it here because I thought it wasn't EVO related but you're right, I'll try it there too. |

If it does match then your MID needs rewritten. Sprint knows this number. After I took over a SERO plan last month, then ported my number back over, my phone would not work. Changing the MID and username didn't for me either so the Tech ended up having me do a factory reset, Wiping the phone, then doing the Profile update when it booted back up. Try that! |

lol. yeah wiping the meid is actually quite difficult.

Thanks guys for the responses. I ended up taking it back to Sprint and they couldn't fix it either so they gave me a new phone.
