NO service at home
I currently have three lines @ my home but they all receive little if any service at home. When i got the Evo i the signal strength would increase and it did but im still dropping and constantly missing calls.
However at the store someone told me to call CS and tell them i was going to cancel my lines and they would send someone out, do some tests and if it was true. Install air wave for free and wave the monthly cost for 2 years.. Has anyone had any experience with this?? when i called customer support the person basically wanted to get me off the phone with little interest in helping me? so has anyone achieved this feat? is there anything i can do to increase signal? coarse them into getting me Airwave??? ty in advance |
Re: NO service at home
Yes, you can get them to do that. You need to speak to someone in the retentions dept.

What you need to do is call CS and when you get connected tell them you want them to transfer you to their retention department. Once you get there explain what your problem is..and then ask them about the Airave. Tell them you have a friend that lives in the same area with the same issue and that they were givin a Airave free for 2 years. I didn't mention the Airave but they were more than happy to send it out free of charge for 2 years. As long as you talk to someone in retention you should be able to get the Airave. It sucks, I have dealt with it since last August....but I'm happy I can make calls now. Also, you must have a broadband connection to be able to use the Airave... Any more question go ahead and post them here...I'll try to answer them the best I can. |
Re: NO service at home
I told them to check my records and they saw moat of my calls were roaming. I just did it 1 month ago. It took about 5 calls though. You have to go through tech support for them to put it in the account notes, then retentions will process you.

Re: NO service at home
i live in a dead zone. there are only two towers in the city, one's verizon's and the other alltel's (bascially verizon's too). the sprint tech said they'd need to send someone out to check my signal, but i told him that verizon, the people who own the towers, have told me already that i'm in a "known problem area."
fcc says that if they sell me an contract and can't deliver service at my residence that i can get out of without an etf. if they don't offer me an airave free of charge i may just wait til day 31 and complain to anyone i can to get out of the contract and keep the evo. they refused me before but i had the $30/mo sero plan and there was no one who could beat that price. |
Re: NO service at home
sprint sending the airave. the were pretty quick and nice about it. i did request that they not send it until i after my 30 days are up and only to send it if i've decided to keep the evo. she said they'll send it anyways.
so phone service won't be an issue btw the droid and evo. |
Re: NO service at home
We just called CS from our house about some other issue, when the rep heard the reception, they damn near forced an airave on us. Ok, not really, but they did send one free and waive the monthly fee. They were also very helpful in setting it up.
My only issue is that it makes my phone believe I live in a town 100 miles from here and my weather and maps get a little disoriented. I think there is a fix for that, but I'm too lazy/busy to look it up and do it... |

Re: NO service at home
Well for now the Airave works...that's what counts. Here in a few months they are about to release a new one...with 3G support and VOIP. The current airave only does 1x data which sucks...but it makes up by giving you full signal in your house. I still have issues with my area..but atleast they are willing to work with me on it.
