Sprint Nextel has begun using WiMAX, branded as a "4G" network."

We've already seen that T-Mobile's HSDPA can be faster than Sprint's "4g" wimax and they're not calling it 4G!

Don't get me wrong I love my Sprint Service(Especially the $30 Sero plan with 22% discount.) I suppose you should be excited about your increase in speed , I would be if I was being shafted for an extra $10/month. But do you really think you'll be able to watch that much more Pron than us lowly "3G" Sprint users?
I actually have no interest in 4G, and it played no role whatsoever in my decision to get an Evo. My TP2 crashing all the time was the biggest factor. And 4G appears to be a battery hog, unable to penatrate walls very well, etc., and the more people that get and use it, the faster 3G will become again. Add to that so many cities putting in WiFi city-wide, and I doubt I will ever use it, if it even works on my DC 3.2.3 phone.

I really don't care at all. I can stream the Netflix Roku box to my TV using Wireless Tether on 3G, with no glitches on the movies, how much faster do I need to be?

My response was directed at the O.P. not you Bundo, I'm still curious about your job and history

I couldn't agree more and I'd have an EVO or Epic if I could find one cheap enough. For now I'll make due with this $60 Samsung Moment!

To be honest, I don't really care what its called. What's in a name? I just care about function and I know that I'm now hitting speeds of up to 4800 kbps and that is 6+ times faster than the 3G I was getting. I don't really want to debate semantics because its irrelevant.

Re: All 4G Discussions Regarding Cities and Availablity

I see more likes than dislikes on the 4g service. I can't wait to get this availability with Verizon. Of course our sprint phone (tp2) doesn't have 4g so soon upgrading to try it out.

Re: All 4G Discussions Regarding Cities and Availablity

Thanks, mlin. Must be early in their rollout. Since I'm on Green Mountain, it will probably be a while before it is out here.

Yeah, I recall hearing something about having Denver (Denver Metro?) covered by the end of October. I guess we'll see. Give it a shot next time you are down town, its crazy fast!

4g is now available in Orlando. I can't wait. I'm always making trips there. Can't wait to try it. If anyone has tried it please post the speed results.
