Thumbs up 4g at Long Beach Airport!!

so i was picking my wife up at the airport last night and thought, "hey, im close to LA and they are supposed to have 4g soon lets turn it on and see what happens". MAN, it was blazing fast. speedtest app was telling me i was consistently getting over 4.5 mb download and 1mb upload. I cant wait till it is availiable here in Orange County. So if u live close to the Long Beach Airport and want to try out 4G stop by and give it a spin. if i didnt already say it, it was AWESOME!!

Re: 4g at Long Beach Airport!!

Awesome!! I'm a few miles away from the airport. I'll stop by after work and test it. I did get 4g at Dodgers stadium but was averaging only 1.5 down.

Re: 4g at Long Beach Airport!!

does an icon pop up when 4G is available? What I'm asking is I have 4G turned off since I don't get it at home so would I have to turn it on anytime I'm somewhere that I think it "might" be available to see if it IS available?

If 4G is not on, you won't get a notification that it's available.
It's just like Wifi. If you don't turn on Wifi, you never get a notice that there is a network to connect to.

They do it that way because otherwise, your 4G radio would constantly look for a connection. That would kill that battery pretty quick.

4G in Boston???

If you are in sprint 4G would be area and have EVO. If you are turning 4G off because 4G is not released yet and want to save battery, you might be missing out.
I tried turning 4G on and walla !!! a notification showed up saying 4G. and it was in Burlington which is good 15 miles away from Boston.

So folks Do some flipping and good luck.
