Are you copying the cab to the phone and running it from the phone?

Yes sno, I am running it from the phone. It's okay though, I went with DocumentsToGo. Although I did try to open a file and it wouldn't read an .rtf, anyone know of an rtf viewer?

Mal, that was nicely done, Thank You.

I have it up and running, and I can open / save files. The problem comes about when I try to open an Office email attachment, I get a msg saying:

"the attachment is of a file type that could be unsafe. Messaging will not open the attachment"

Any ideas on this one? Is there a reg hack to allow me to open word / excel email attachments.

TIA

Hmmm...weird. I received an office doc the other day it ran without a hitch (it had the little "W" for Word icon by the attachment).

I suppose you can try and run this:

Most of these things change registry setting. So either you made asystem back up of your Q brfore you did these changes, and can revert your Q back. Or you will have to do a hard reset.

The problem is that Mobile Office is installed in the \Windows\ directory on WM6, however the installer that we are using for WM5 puts it in \Program Files\Office6\.

One solution is to change the installer we are using for WM5 to put Mobile Office in the \Windows\ directory. I've tested this, and NewDoc will work fine then.

The other solution (which I'd prefer) is to leave Mobile Office where it installs on WM5, and change NewDoc to point there for launching Word and Excel.

I've left a message for Paul (MVP) at MoDaCo to see if he would be willing to share his source code for NewDoc with me, so that I can modify NewDoc for the WM5 installation. Hopefully he'll be willing to share; I really don't want to recreate the wheel.
