How do we go about getting a code?

I tried the one in your description and its a no-go...

EDIT: Just went to the site, no new codes being given out right now.

Amazing this app is >200kb...

Catman51 03-29-2007 10:44 PM

Hang tight for the code, I downloaded yesterday, and they said no go, then today got a code. So, they're giving them out slowly.

monkey 03-29-2007 11:17 PM

Its funny how they ask for your e-mail address first and then they tell you that the limit has been reached.

b00sted415 04-05-2007 01:33 PM

aww man I was looking forward to browsing with this... :D

MidwestDrummer 04-17-2007 12:45 AM

This initial version of Deepfish doesn't seem to like the login in boxes (email address and password) or the login button for MySpace. Here's a few suggestions for the next and/or final release:

- support for frames (and use of their scrollbars)
- unable to use log-in forms (buttons won't activate)
- drop-down menu's are not recognized as selectable link
- in forms, show the text entered on the top of the screen in the actual textbox when done. now it looks like nothing was entered.

Malatesta 04-17-2007 02:32 PM

MidwestDrummer,

lol though I appreciate your recommendations, we are not MicroSoft so they can't here you here.

Also, some of what you ask for won't be possible. What this app does it take a picture of the website, passes it through the sever and gives it you. So you are not actually navigating the real website, just an image of it.

Think of Google Earth or MS's version of those satellite images...same technology.

CozBoogie 05-23-2007 02:24 PM

Just received my activation code TODAY (I signed up when it was first released)! Will play around and check it out.

late,
Coz

monkey 06-04-2007 11:11 PM

I received my code today!!! :P I signed up the day it came out, early in the morning. i am so excited. installing on my Q right now...

ScandaLex 06-05-2007 06:15 AM

Well, right now, registration is completely closed. No registration means no codes.

Leave it to M$ to give you something, then say, oops, cant give you anymore at this time....but check back later... :x

budney 06-05-2007 10:54 AM

I am mad I wasn't able to get a code, as I was staying at a hotel the week this came out. I would of love to try this out. :(

egeek 06-07-2007 08:16 PM

Try this activation code: 5202744683210565
It should still be valid for DeepFish, but don't know how many times it will work.

dmoseder 06-09-2007 02:03 AM

That Activation code didn't work for me

bunnytrigger 06-09-2007 03:43 AM

any more reports on how this app is working out?

OMG, I got my Activation Code finally! I signed up the day it came out

I'll post my thoughts (if any differ) later, gotta install now.

Update:
Build is 3/27/07 so there is no new updates to the program itself

On a Treo, it's not bad, not great. It looked better on the Q with 320x240--those extra pixels help with the smaller text.

I still find PIE + MuliIE (or PIE+), in single colum/full screen or just a nice RSS reader better, but this is a nice "option" for browsing regular websites.

Torx 06-26-2007 09:10 AM

is it like opera mini? where you can zoom in and out and such?

letsgoflyers81 06-28-2007 01:41 PM

It's not working for me. I can browse sites, but there's no option to zoom in. I'm using it on an HTC Mogul (6800). Am I missing something here?

Actually, it's quite different.

Deepfish "images" the web page on MS's servers and that's what you see on your device.

In turn, you can click the links and zoom in/out, much like the iPhone feature.

What you see is the true website, not reformatted for mobile devices. It works relatively fast but it's a "technical preview" which means it's not even Beta, so a lot of features are not enabled.

It's closer to Picsel browser than Opera.

scubaduba 08-05-2007 03:04 PM

Any update on this browser? Haven't heard much in a while and wonder when this thing will be available.

jamess1213 08-05-2007 07:58 PM

stick with opera mobile

i have tried both on my mogul... and opera mobile is by far a better browser. give it a try

snotboy32 08-07-2007 10:43 AM

Deepfish code is 8735644102444130 have fun :P

JHClagg 08-10-2007 11:19 PM

Thanks!

THANK YOU! I've been trying to get ahold of a key for months now!

greenhawk87 08-21-2007 11:50 AM

What are you suppose to do with the code exactly? Can't someone just upload the files needed to put on our phones.

snotboy32 08-21-2007 01:45 PM

Well that is the Activation code, You cannot use Deepfish browser without it. You have to type it in the options where it stands ACTIVATION. okay?

fparkin 09-01-2007 03:25 PM

thanks for code very cool app

ScandaLex 09-01-2007 08:51 PM

I tried using deepfish and each page rendered so tiny that I couldnt navigate. I'll stick with opera mini.

F16Vet 09-02-2007 11:24 PM

How do you zoom in and out? BTW, someone on some forum (maybe here, don't remember) said the Picsel Browser didn't support Flash. I went to http://www.netwasp.com, makers of several WM Theme software and all their demo's worked great no matter what size I was zoomed, in or out!:)

miquel 09-04-2007 06:06 PM

It's a good start, but needs a touch version. I hate using the scroll wheel on my 6800. It isn't very intuitive. It also does not like user defined fields (like password entry).

@ F16Vet ... zoom in and out by pushing the center of the d-pad.

Oh DUH! Used to using Picsel browser and trying to double tap. Thanks.

F16Vet 09-07-2007 09:25 PM

Hmmm... Tried going to this website on both Deepfish and Picsel Browser: www.ad355.com. Worked great in Picsel but Deepfish stuck at about half a page. Same with: http://www.air-dynamics.ws.

kmoody42 09-17-2007 03:03 AM

code works fine (thanks to those that posted) but why would we want to use this, is there something I am missing, You can not read anything it is too small.

kmoody42 09-17-2007 03:12 AM

ok so it zooms? how? so far i just see really small web pages.

snotboy32 09-17-2007 12:17 PM

push the screen so you get a gray box and push again and it will zoom in there.

FatPanda 09-21-2007 06:51 AM

The code posted in the thread works for me. I still prefer Picsel though. Shame it keeps giving me memory full errors :(

daisyd681 10-19-2007 10:50 AM

The link on the first page doesn't work on my Q. Anyone have a different place to get this. I'm trying to find a browser that will let me log in to the Wellsfargo website.

tazfurbie 10-19-2007 01:50 PM

Not sure if you got an answer yet but try this https://www.wellsfargo.com/mobile/

daisyd681 10-19-2007 03:19 PM

It says that I need to upgrade my browser. I'm using the version of PIE that came with my Q. Is there an update for PIE? Where can I get deepfish?

kmacks27 10-19-2007 08:29 PM

Downloaded the zip file on my htc 6800 and deepfish wont run any help
