Sound routing problem after EXTUSB unplug/replug
I believe that sound routing through the EXTUSB is fairly new, but I've run into a repeatable problem with it. Once I plug the EXTUSB in after boot, the sound routes through the connection as expected. However, if I pause the playback, unplug the EXTUSB, and then plug the EXTUSB back in, the sound does not route through the EXTUSB. I've found that if I toggle speakerphone on & off, then the sound will correctly route through the EXTUSB connection again.
Until there is a permanent fix for this issue, I was wondering if there was a faster way to "restart" the sound routing, rather than calling voice mail, toggling speakerphone on/off, disconnecting, and returning to the original app. |

Why not just use the 3.5mm jack?
You have a RHOD400, yes? Who needs that silly extUSB :p. But audio routing is very broken right now. There's a lot of new code that will hopefully fix all of the audio routing issues our port has. |

3.5mm is one connection, but I guess if you have to charge that would make 2.
New acoustic code should in theory resolve the issue you're having. |
Re: Sound routing problem after EXTUSB unplug/replug
Arrrghhh,
Just wanted to comment - I've got a headset which I use for hands-free that plugs in to the USB port (used for audio & phone conversations) that came with my Touch Pro 2. I am getting audio on phone calls through the earbuds, and the microphone works, but only on one earbud. It's mono all over again! No worries, I can wait for the new acoustic code, just thought I'd mention another use for the USB plug. Gremlin |
