Question Reverse tether rhodium400?

Is there any way to share an internet connection on my PC for use in my android TP2? Unfortunately for me I cannot use adhoc networks and only connection I have is through USB cable? does any one know if reverse-tethering is possible?

Do you have a wifi card in your PC? Otherwise, I'm not aware of any way to do that... EasyTether I think only works in one direction, but the concept would be similar.

Sure you can... grab a trial of current "wmwifirouter"(not wifirouter)..

You can do Usbto3G if I remember right, sorry in Xdandroid right now and don't wanna switch over to check it.. but WMwifirouter has 6 different tethering option.. I know for sure one let's you take the connection from your Machine and tether via usb to the device

I think he means in the other direction. As in his phone has no data connection, and he wants to get a data connection on his phone...

Exactly.... winMO and wmwifirouter can do that..

I've never looked for a winMO app...

Curious as to why adhoc isn't supported... if OP thinks its his tp2, that's easily fixed with the wpa_supplicant mod...

I dunno whhat OS version it started (or maybe stopped) in but Desktop Machines can go into adhoc mode and give up its connection... that's why I wonder why OP feels he can't use adhoc.. hmmmm

OP chime in

Re: Reverse tether rhodium400?

I think, in WM active sync can handle internet connections. But now a days, due to really stable builds, I spend most of my time in Android and so many apps use internet

In my office where I am interested in using the phone, I don't get any reception and only have a desktop without any wireless card to create ad-hoc connections.

Re: Reverse tether rhodium400?

Ah my fault. I thought wmwifirouter did in the other direction only, tethering a data cxn on the phone to a PC. My bad!

xda-developers - View Single Post - G1 reverse teather

You can tether whatever direction you want.

Also
xda-developers - View Single Post - Internet on G1 via USB cable (Reverse Tethering)?
