Power LED with Blazn Android

My charging LED stays lit at all times when running android. It turns orange while being used and green in sleep mode. Is this normal? I would think it uses a lot of battery

Yup, that's normal. I agree w/ the battery use, but power management is still being fine tuned, maybe that's something they'll look into. And batt life has been getting better, so who knows.

fishingmedic is correct. It's just for debugging, and compared to the overall power management I doubt an LED is going to cause that much drain

Re: Power LED with Blazn Android

LEDEffects (latest release) works to control the notification LED. It's a bit flaky and doesn't fully work, but it can keep it off most of the time and even help notify you of a text/email/call, but not reliably. There are more power hungry things that need to be worked out though before worrying about that LED though. The screen backlight uses considerably more power than that small light will ever use.

Re: Power LED with Blazn Android

Thought i just keep it in the same thread instead of making one. I am running the latest froyo reference 10/13 and at first i get the led lights from amber to green then all of a sudden it's gone for good. I had no idea how that happened but im glad its gone. Been rebooting back and forth and it's no where to be seen. any idea why its gone?

There were some updates to the notification LED code a week or so ago. I've had it not come on for hours already before those updates were put in place though.

It really bothered you that much? With WisTilt2's new commits, it'll probably be fixed with the next kernel or two (hopefully).

I actually like knowing what's going on without turning on the screen. But being able to control the leds should save a little battery.

+1. With LEDEffects you can turn it off, so there's nothing to worry about folks!
