You may need to try a few older modules/zimage pairs to find something that works. But then you may lose sound.

The number 1 cause of wifi not working is not using the right modules file. The modules and zImage are a pair and must be from the same compile or some drivers will not work.

Sure, init in rootfs is responsible for loading the wifi modules (drivers). If you check lines 327 through 345 (init - eclair-rootfs in XDANDROID Eclair - Gitorious), you will see this:

if [ -e "$card/modules-$(uname -r).tar.gz" ]

uname -r returns the operating system release level. If the release version doesn't match the zImage's release version, it won't load the wifi drivers.

well i get the XDA app to connect to my pc, but cant view webpages. any help?
