Haret uses windows mobile to load Android. NAND boot loads Android without having wince running. Both still run the OS off the SD card though.

This kernel is for haret, not NAND... as I understand it, perhaps the NAND code is in this kernel...? I don't think so. I think that currently is a separate fork...

Either way guys, this kernel is just for testing those things that camro listed in that BLAC thread. So let's take the NAND talk over to that thread! Thanks!

Working great so far. I will fully test later this weekend when I can keep the
phone in airplane mode all day.

I have an extended battery I use so just to give some variety.

Cool! Be sure to post feedback in camro's thread over on XDA... he doesn't read/post here :D

seems to be charging connected to a computer. PC detected a usb device but was not able to install driver

Re: [TESTING] New Kernel (Battery Status Fix!!)

Ran on this new kernel all day. So far Android has gotten to 38% while WinMo says 50%. Not bad. Being an extended battery I can see some variance in the calculations.

Went to sleep and jumped back to 41% and creeping back down. lol

can some body post the kernel here on ppcgeeks? the uploads on XDA are gone.

+1 on uploading the kernel here, seems like camro is having some issues with uploading over at XDA

I asked camro if he could post the new kernel on here so lets see what happens

Sorry guys.... Didn't realize that was the case until today. I'll talk to camro. I'm not sure if I have his kernel floating around or not. If I do, I'll update the first post.

Same stuff basically. So far we're still just testing battery with this kernel. USB will hopefully be the next test. Camro's been playing with battery algo's, and I think there's probably a more up-to-date kernel from him, so watch the thread... I'll update it again when I talk to camro hopefully sometime tonight.

Just spoke with him, he's having issues with the new kernel. I think the battery algo is good to go, and he's onto fixing the incall mic & shutdown issues. Then we'll have a new kernel, and hopefully USB will be the next to test!!

Thanks for being patient guys, like I said earlier the battery algo in this kernel seems like it's about as good as it's going to get... I've heard good things from all sorts of different users/devices. Hopefully it'll get committed to mainline soon!!

tpdjr 10-03-2010 04:44 PM

Re: [TESTING] New Kernel (Battery Status testing!!)

no problem arrghh thx for keeping us updated with the latest builds and the battery algo seems great now like you said all we need if USB. After that the devs can start focusing on the camera and making the os run smoother.

Re: [TESTING] New Kernel (Battery Status testing!!)

hey guys, quick question I'd like to test this but I thought that all I had to do was replace the zimage and modules files in the andboot folder, my haret wont boot when I do this, do I need to rename anything or add different files?

Did you remove, rename or move the old zImage & modules file...? I move them to a separate folder so I can flip back to them if needed.

The zImage should be named just that - zImage. Modules file shouldn't need renaming.

Re: [TESTING] New Kernel (Battery Status testing!!)

very nice.. Been using the 9/29 build and was pretty happy with that... but this 10/4 is definintely a step up.

Battery is charging, and USB is attempting to mount sd card when plugged into Windows but appears to fail when trying to load the drivers... the battery meter "appears" to be correct, and I have not tested the life I get out of the battery, but I will be doing that today.

yeah I did that, it might be a different problem then, I'll format and reinstall to be safe and see if that works, thanks Arrrghhh

EDIT: Wow im retarded, forgot to turn off OC in windows haha
