I don't think I could give up groovemobile or groove downloader that easily. Also, comic reader mobi doesn't have a android port yet either.

I believe the HD2 is running android almost flawlessly now. How fast they got everything to work on that one was amazing..considering development for Android on that device started months after ours

Is it just me who thinks the tp2 would just be the most awesome phone on the market...if they simply re-released it with Android natively??

why would you wanna RUIN the TP2 by making it Android Only.. read my SIG and everything I can do with a TP2 and winMO.. ANdroid doesnt compare when it comes to the "Open Customization" winMO allows..

-1 for ANdroid Only TP2s..YUCK!

True but neither of these are available on Verizon, which is the guy who started this thread's carrier. Verizon is releasing a similiar to the G2 called the Lexikon.

I for one would LOVE to get rid of WinMo on my TP2. It's far from an "open" system, in any stretch of the word...

Sure there's some guys who have done great work on WinMo ROMs, but truth be told the kernel that runs WinCE is tired & old. It's a dog.

Android runs fantastically on my phone, and with all of the things Android can do... WinMo just feels like old news... Because it is ;)

Re: Is it just me...

Yeah the biggest issue with TP2 is the dated hardware..HTC SHOULD HAVE put in a snapdragon..it is quite silly they did not...I mean going from mogul they jumped 133mhz and TP->TP2 0mhz...If a TP2 had 512mb ram and a 1ghz processor..winmo or android it would be a beast on its own.

Cause right now I'm running an Epic and a TP2..and even while using 3g internet and the device in general runs circles around the TP2...I personally never felt the TP2 to be laggy (outside of web browser of course) but my Epic makes it feel that way :/

Also.originally TP2 had a front facing camera...carriers just took it out

As I always say..HTC is the one who made winmo what it is, and the one the killed winmo. IF HTC put a snapdragon in a TP2..winmo may have still lived on to this day.

I don't know about you guys, but I've used my wife's Driod 2 and while it is awesomely fast and a great phone: I like my keyboard better and my resistive screen! I find on the capacitive screen that I'm selecting things I don't want to. Our screens are more accurate which makes it easier to select a link on a web site or put a check in a check box.

Personally I don't mind resistive screens and realistically resistive screens are a better technology...capacitive screens though give the "impression of being better" but realistically it is not the case. Though in your scenario that is where multi-touch comes in as you can zoom with it. (Though resistive screens are capable of multitouch theoretically as well..was just never implemented)
