Ok I got the music to set but now the notifications ringtone is set for silent.

you have to put it in the notification folder i think lol or make one or something
I'm thinking since sound wasn't working, they took out all the ringtones and notification sounds, cuz Android has like 30 notification sounds and 35 or so ringtones lol

are you running stock or custom rom? mp3 trimmer is all you need.

try searching mp3 ringtone in market...i dont remember the exact name but its really simple to use....as soon as market starts working on my phone i will let you know the name

uhh how did you figure it out? I cant even get anything besides silent to show up as an option, I thought ringtones were supposed to go in the andboot\media\audio\ringtones directory??

well you can open the song song in the default media player, bring up the menu and itll say "set as ringtone".... if you ahve premade ones like on your sd, just use a file explorer and open it up in the player and select it from there..
obviously not the standard solution but thats what i did..
