headset for phone use?
 

Is it possible to get the headset working for calls (as opposed to listening to media)? The port status page suggests it is, but I have had no luck. I have tried with both a 3.5mm headset and a usb headset. The rest of my android build seems to function within the limits of the current builds: phone (without headset), gps, data, etc.

As an aside, I found this thread, but it seems to address media playback rather than telephonic use.

Any thoughts on whether I'm doing something wrong or whether it's possible would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone? Would love to be able to use a wired headset with the 3.5mm jack or usb for phone calls on Android and the port status wiki makes it sound like its possible.

I'm using a stereo mini usb one that came with one of my older phones and it works well. No complaints from anyone I talk to, but I've been looking for other options to see if the quality could be even better. Let me know what you find.

Thanks Math, that's very helpful. I was trying with a mono-usb headset from a previous HTC phone, but I can probably rummage to find a stereo one.

Did you make any adjustments to the command-line entries in startup.txt?

I'll let you know if I find any better options.
