Question any way to mark a contact as not to be synced?

is there a way to sync only certain contacts? I looked in gmail but i dont see any option to set a contact or a group marked as NOT SYNCED, short of deleting the contact.

If you use gmail as your contact source, you just need to go to your contacts in gmail, and then under My Contacts select the contacts that you do not want synced and then click on Groups and then under Remove From... just select My Contacts and that/those contacts will no longer be synced.

Gmail only exposes the contacts under My Contacts group to ActiveSync/Google Sync.

Good luck.
