Actually volume control does appear to be working. I played a couple MP3 files through the music app and had no problems adjusting volume.

I do think this is going to inspire the devs to keep at it.

Interesting- can you adjust the system volume, or only the volume in the app? You might be looking at an internal volume setting that is software controlled independently. I'm under the impression that the actual OS does not yet have control over the system volume, nor the ability to stop amplification when no sound is being played (hence the constant hissing, which while only moderately annoying also contributes to significant battery drain).

Still- could be wrong.

I was able to control the volume of my mp3 and ring tone. So I can say that volume control is working for my Sprint TP2.

Ya volume control works for me.. as does everything else..

I do have a nice trick,, ( havent seen anyone post yet bout it )

if your having trouble installing apk's from outside the market.. sign up for dropbox..I have all my programs in there.. and can install them at will..etc..

Thats how i got past the 3d gallery in the previous builds.. used dropbox and installed the 2d gallery.. etc.. i love dropbox,. comes in handy for wm/android..

Just a tip for anyone..

over at xda.. I used a hero for 7 months.. so i have all these apk's and such laying around.. im at work but if u want it pm me..and when i get home this afternoon.. I will post it for ya..etc or anything else you may want.. etc.

Considering we got such an excellent original post why sound was not working in the past, just out of curiousity, I was wondering if anyone could explain generally how they got it working. I just thought that would be interesting to know what the break through was.

My bad... but I actually read back like 5 pages and didn't see any summary of how the devs got sound working. All I found was a link to XDA which doesn't have an explanation other than "sound is working" now.

Excuse me for my ignorance but is there a particular post that I'm missing in this thread?

BTW, it's not big deal. I was just curious what was the big break-through.
The important thing is that it's working.

from what i remember the key point was some registers( whatever tht means) were off by 1

Just read on the IRC logs that one of the hard workings devs (Wowzer) bricked his phone, as far as i know some of the guys here have buyed newer phones, maybe someone is willing to let go their old Verizon tp2 (a sprint one might work, but not sure) for cheap, please contact directly, Wowzer, Acl or Jonpry or a forum moderator, for that matter.
