Problem solved, never mind. Just needed to copy everything to root of storage card.

How do I get the exchange support on AOSP build?

You would need to find a third party app, some of them seem to work from what others have said.

every other build does that endless HTC hero boot screen? that i have let run & run.

am i missing somthing?

Thanks

Are you editing the startup.txt and changing the rhod400 to rhod500? I know this is mostly a distinction for the keyboard, but possible it might be the problem. I know some other Verizon people are getting it to run.

Question What is the difference between this build and the one linked in the first post, the 2.1 aosp from the main touch pro 2 android thread? Like for starters the bootscreen is different and numerous icons as well as the original background. Is there anything else significant different or is it just a few cosmetic things? Also noticed in the setup screen the one here doesnt mention AOSP anywhere and the one at the link does.

Some of the differences from the AOSP (like on the first page) and Sense versions are that the Sense versions add the ability to connect to Exchange, save email attachments and a couple of other minor things like weather, better text and messaging interface. The one in the link you provided is very similar to the Sense version I put, but it takes much longer to install, but has an update utility to update the zImage, rootfs and other files.

There are two types you can try. One is the sense ui build that jpriset pointed you to. (This is the one I maintain)

Sense05-21-10.zip

The other is the AOSP version that is smaller, faster and somewhat more stable. This one is provided by 00_MACKIE_00. Mackie has been busy, so I took the liberty to update his build to the latest stable zImage, rootfs and modules. Here is his builds...

Android 05.21.10.zip

or his last one before of

Android 05.12.10.zip

I think that the Mackie version is a better one to start with to be up and running the quickest.

for some reason whenever i try the sense ones it just gets stuck in a loop of the hero/htc graphic, i let it sit almost 30 min last time and i never got past there, is there a trick or something i should know?

i waited 10 min and hit the power button and end call button a few times and it changed to the setup screen

when you put in the "acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=768000", to overclock, do you include the "" or not?

no quotes. the only quotes needed are at the begining and end of your command line, which are already in place.
