Anyone got Google Voice working? It seems that everything on Google Voice is working however when I tried to make a phone call "with google voice" the program stop working. Is there anyone experiencing the same problem?

I am as well. When I go to make a call, it seems as if its going to connect the call, but when it switches to calling Google the call ends.

Working fine for me! Downloaded Google Voice from market, set it up to prompt when making a call. Opened contacts and selected the wifes cell, popup asks if I want to use GV #, I select it and it called her phone. My GV number showed up as incoming call on her phone.

Tried that still did not work. What are your setting in Google Voice Server side.
I can use the call back method in GV without a problem. But I want the native Google Voice app to work.

Call settings? Call screening unchecked. Call Presentation:ON Caller id in: display callers number.Caller id out:don't change anything.Do not disturbed:unchecked.
Under phones is My cell# and its checked and activated.

This is wack. I've changed all my settings and my google voice will not call out. When the program attempts to call google to connect the call, I see my data indicator change from 3G to E, then the call ends.
Those who are successful does your calls follow the same procedure?

My wifi is off. Just booted into android to verify. Selected a contact and gv asked to use it,i hit yes, it called with gv and gave me the screen like the one i posted. Maybe try deleting your data.img and setting up again using the latest kernel.

I just reinstalled everything still does not work. Would it be possible if you can make a "print screen" of your google settings?

Those that have google voice working, are you on stock wm6.1 or on custome wm6.5 and if you are custom what build are you on?

edit: Also, Those who have Google Voice working, did you only install Google Voice app or did you intall other Google Voice related apps? (like Google Voice locations, Callback, etc)

As you can see I initiate the call it begins to call then when it does the "Calling via Google Voice" the call ends suddenly.

Mine are the exact same with different numbers and mine shows 3G. Why does yours show E? U running it as GSM?

No I am on sprint. I do not have a sim card in my touch pro 2.
I think the E is from when you are on voice calls. Similar the the Ev for 3G and 1x for E

i tried to use the same google voice settings as listed in the beginning of this thread but i still cant get google voice to connect my calls. i also tried deleting my data.img file and installed the newest kernel and still had no luck..im running mr.x 6.5 rom.... is that the problem?

Never mind, i downloaded the latest kernel and latest gv app, and is working fine, even thou ill have to start using the gv callback app, since i have free incoming minutes, which is also great.

!!!!!Temporary Solution for non-working Android Google Voice App!!!!!!!

This has been killing me and I was unable to find any concrete answer anywhere. It seems to be half and half in-regards to who has this working and who doesn't.
First it seems to be that the problem is when using the app it has +1 hard coded into the Google Access Number, so when you call someone and the app goes to call the connect number you receive an error and the call ends. Following these steps I got it to work for me:
1. Call someone using the Google Voice App and wait for the Google Access Number to dial
2. Write down the Google Access Number and end call if not already ended.
3. Save the Google Access Number in your contacts list (I suggest you add it to favorites)
4. Now place another call with the Google Voice App and wait until the call prematurely ends.
5. Once it ends, go to the Google Access Number in your Contacts list or favorites and call the access number
6. Viola!! the call connects to the person you originally attempted to call.

What a work around, but it seems to work.
Please test and give feedback.

Any ideas about the google voice app itself? I downloaded the GV app from the android market, and it doesn't seem to work at all. It sits at the connecting screen and spins. Everything else is working on the phone (data, calls, etc), but I can't connect to GV. I am running the stock WM 6.1 ROM with the latest android installed.

EDIT:

Nevermind, I figured it out. Apparently when it tried to connect to GV using the account already configured with the phone, it did not work. I had to click "sign in as a different user" and then enter my username and password again. (Note, this was the same account that I used to set up the phone...) I'm not sure what caused that issue or if it was mentioned already, but there ya go.

The problem might be that for some, dialing +1 makes calls not go through. For some (like myself), it causes no problem. That's what makes it so confusing to troubleshoot.

A workaround was added to the RIL a while back (commit here, if you're curious). Try adding

to your cmdline (startup.txt). If the problem is with the +1, and if that fix works for TP2 (it should, but I'm not 100% sure), that should solve the problem.

I tried this, and I got a haret.exe error stating "unknown switch 'north_am_dialing'" and crashed.

it goes in the cmdline string. with all the other bits. right before physkeyboard should be safe.
