Re: [3/6/2010] Google Android for TP2 CDMA [In Dev]

can this ever be installed as a rom.
idk about other devices but is this even possible.
also it would be cool if we could get the market place to work and the camera. also the battery indicator.
and can make it less laggy?
can the tp2 processor even handle the android 2.1
other wise these break throighs are awsome

you dont want too much there lol.

I have a strange feeling the TP2 can handle android very well especially when Hardware GPU acceleration breakthroughs are made. Its doing a decent job now.

Android Market would be swell.

Re: [3/6/2010] Google Android for TP2 CDMA [In Dev]

did they ever get gps, camera and any other goodies working on the vogue/touch with older builds of android or 2.1? trying to gauge what we may get in the near future...

I am unsure, but it is going to be interesting to see if due to the fact of newer/different chips, android being more mature, if we might end up getting more working in the end then the vogue setup got. It definitely should run smoother with the additional cpu/ram.

I re-synced my phone with Google and it put the contacts back on, however no of them have names. I am really upset because I had about 4 years worth of Calender appointments on my device and all of my contacts. If anyone has any clues, besides starting all over fresh.
Clear out everything on your phone, then goto myphone.microsoft.com and log in. On the left side, click on "Archive" goto your contacts, then select all, then click on the "Restore" button. This will bring your contacts back to be sync'ed with your phone. Repeat for calender. Then run myphone from your phone, and sync. This will bring back all your contacts and calendar events, but will also include those contacts with no names.

For whatever reason, if you have more than 1 sync source (I use 3, actually), things tend to get screwy. This will restore everything that was sync'ed in the past, but you may have to manually clear out those contacts without names. I recommend doing that from Outlook, then syncing the phone with activesync, then going back to myphone, and back into archives, where the contacts without names will be, and deleting those. Then sync with google.

Also, I recommend doing it this way, but alternatively, you could do the following: Go to myphone.microsoft.com, log in, then check to see if your contacts are in archives. If so, go back to your live contacts, delete all, then go back to archive, select all, restore, then calendar, restore, then sync. The only reason why I don't recommend doing it this way is because if anything goes screwy, you could lose all your contacts. By doing it the original way, all your contacts, including your extraneous ones, will be saved in outlook for you to go through and clear out manually.

Questions? PM me. I'll be happy to help out.

Seeing as how it runs the same processor, Qualcomm MSM7200A 528 MHz, as the Hero I would say it is more then capable of running 2.1. It is doing a good job of it now and there is still a lot of work to be done.
