Market: I'll use freeware sites
camera: just will use window mobile OS
Bluetooth: pfft who uses it with tp2 that kills battery
gps: will use windows mobile google maps.
Youtube/ streaming: Windows mobile is great espically with youtube downloaders.

Sorry for the spam but yea this is why I'm soon to be sold to android os only
Hey guys, going to try this android out tonight. I was holding out until data/sms became functional, very excited to see its working now! Wish me luck, Im sure Ill be back with many questions.

BTW, I use bluetooth along with streaming pandora and my phone lasts at least 6 hrs (the streaming music limit for my headset)so I wouldnt say that it kills battery.

In line with that post, I understand that the back speaker isnt working but does headphones work? If I plug my headphones into the phone will I be able to listen to music and talk? I havent seen anyone mention this and Ive spent 3 days reading posts from 2/15 (the last time I checked the thread before the explosion of updates and posts) to current.
Thanks for all the hard work!

Re: [3/6/2010] Google Android for TP2 CDMA [In Dev]

May be a dumb question, but the only reason I haven't began to use this is because I cannot seem to get my contacts onto Android. After the first use, I put my Sim back in and it still seemed to be running fine, yet when I tried to import contacts from Sim it said that none were detected.

Again, I am very new to this and any help would be great.

No headset doesn't work yet neither does sound other than speaker for voice calls.

Step 1
  • Open microsoft outlook and click on your contacts
  • Go to File > Import and Export > Select Export to a file - Next
  • Select Comma Separated Values - Next
  • Select Contacts - Next
  • Save the file in a known location - Next
  • Click on 'Map Custom Fields' and make sure Default Maps are set
  • Click Finish
Step 2
  • Log Into your gmail account
  • Click Contacts in the left menu
  • Click Import in the top right
  • Choose file and select the .csv you just saved (add them to a group if you want)
  • Click Import
  • Your contacts will be imported into your Gmail account
Step 3
  • On your touch pro(android mode) make sure you have connected your Gmail account
  • Go to contacts > Menu > Accounts
  • Select your Gmail account > Menu > Sync Now
  • Your new contacts will be imported - Any duplicates should be merged

Just loaded it up. First impression, Wow. Loaded up crazy fast! Downloaded in 5, unzipped in like 3 to f:/Android (my sd card android folder). Restarted WM, launched Haret from Total Commander, everything loaded on first shot in something like 3 minutes!

Take out the sim out and leave it out and boot android and you should be able to get out of airplane mode and make/receive calls and sms

Re: [3/6/2010] Google Android for TP2 CDMA [In Dev]

Im having a problem syncing with my gmail. I tried setting up my account at initial startup but I got an error saying something like it couldnt sync. I go into settings/accounts and my gmail account is there but it says "sync is off" although the auto sync box is checked. When I click my account, go to the menu using the windows key and press sync now nothing happens. Any ideas?
