Re: [2/27/2010] Google Android for TP2 CDMA [In Dev]

Yesterday I posted that I could connect to an open network but not my WPA2 network. Well today it's working just fine. In fact when I booted up Android today it remembered the password from last nights unsuccessful attempt and I was automatically connected via WPA2. I have to attribute this glitch to my wireless router, which has been kind of flaky lately.

I also mentioned that scrolling in the Android browser was choppy, it still is. Though once a site fully loads it is a lot better, still a bit choppy but better.

Re: [2/27/2010] Google Android for TP2 CDMA [In Dev]

I know that I saw it mentioned the other day, but I can now confirm that you DO NOT NEED TO PLACE A CALL OR HAVE Wi-Fi RUNNING BEFORE YOU LOAD HARET. I turned my phone to Airplane mode before I loaded Haret and when Android loaded, I had to register on a network like usual, but I was already connected to my Wi-Fi network. I will occasionally have to turn on the Wi-Fi myself but no big deal. I hope this helps some people out so that we don't have to clutter the thread up with more nonsense posts, but I think that we need to get a running thread (maybe separate from this one) with what does/ does not work and how to enable/ disable different things. Just an idea

Re: [2/27/2010] Google Android for TP2 CDMA [In Dev]

I can make calls, but which network am I using (e.g., Sprint network, or ATT/TMo (through SIM)?

The reason I ask is that when I check on available networks, phone only returns ATT and TMo, and when it shows "Sprint", it is followed by "No Service". Plus, there is mention in this thread of Civic still working on the Radio Interface Layer (RIL); not sure if this is just to get data going, or also to get CDMA voice.

Just curious for any thoughts, as I dont want to rack up a lot of voice roaming charges on GSM network (if I can avoid it).

Unless you paid to have your SIM unlocked for use with ATT or T-Mobile and you have a sim card, you will be using Sprint.

I would just take the SIM card out so you know you are using Sprint. Data does not work with Sprint yet. So use WIFI and make phone calls all you want.

That sounds like it is more meant for actual android phones, but ones that are in countries where they shouldn't be yet...
It's a useful tool for our phones, too; It lets you see paid apps in the market. Without it, they don't show up. (Because our phones report some weird hybrid network data when they connect to the market app, and don't look like normal Sprint Android phones, etc.)

But, no, it has nothing to do with getting downloads working. That's a separate problem.
