exactly my point, we all need to just calm down. As far as CDMA goes we have yet to see any real progress. I certainly applaud and stand behind Civic, but still see nothing different in this build from the ego posted one except maybe better button mapping. If I get some spare time I will try to get my head into the ring, but my unix/linux knowledge is more perl centric than anything.

I'm not sure if MetroPCS TP2 has a sim card like the Verizon TP2, but if it does try taking out your sim card. I could not register on the VZW network till I took out my sim.

edited - I tried to edit this post 3 times from my phone after reading your post closer, but it refused to save the changes.
It's actually a Sprint TP2 that is flashed to metro and it's fully unlocked, meaning i can use USA sim cards with it. i tried different radios but didnt do anything, i didn't have any sim card in it, but for the heck of it i'll try with a few different ones i've collected over the years and the Sprint one that came with the phone lol.

apparently not as close as we have assumed. the touch pro 2 uses a different radio structure in that it can do gsm (which works with data even on the sprint/verison/telus models provided you have a gsm sim to use) and cdma data which seems to be a variant significantly different to how the touch pro 1 uses it otherwise we would have data on both once one was discovered.

Re: [1/25/2010] Google Android for TP2 CDMA [In Dev]

thanks cornelius and yeah on thinking about it i shoud have relized since the TP2 has both GSM & CDMA combined it most probably would have some major board hardware differances . ah well since many TP users are upgrading to the TP2 so hopefully soon we wil get a full house of developers and really get the ball rolling.

Also just want to give props to civic for getting this thing rolling

This isn't fully true, if you guys had been following this all the way back, there were a few other devs who started to help. I actually directed them away from working on data and more towards working on things civic wasn't already working on, wifi, sound, phone, better screen calibration.

There would probably be more help if we could get at his changes. Granted I've not done this before, but I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and try (got a dev env set up!), but we can't see what he's done so far!

CIVIC! Come back to us and get your changes public PLEASE!

Thanks for all the work so far...gives us hope for CDMA!
