One of the biggest differences is the new radio chips- don't you guys remember how one of the selling points of the TP2 was that the new wireless chips don't heat up as much with use as the TP1 (which you could fry an egg on after a long phone call)?

Thanks and yes I do remember the chip difference. By no means do I claim to be an expert in the area of computers/processors/chip sets etc, which is why I asked the general question: "can anything be gained from the TP1 builds."

Just thought I'd pass along something...

A lot of people here say that you need to extract all the files to the root of the SD card in order for Android to boot up and work properly

But if you like keeping your SD card clean, you can try this instead:

1) Delete all the Android files from your SD card
2) Create a folder on the root of the SD card called 'Android' (no quotes, exact spelling and punctuation - i.e. capitalized 'A')
3) Dump all the Android files back in that new folder you just made
4) Boot 'er up

Note: This method will still create 'cache' and 'data' folders on the SD card, but everything else will be kept nice and tidy in that 'Android' folder you made :thumbleft:

Note 2: If you use the method above, and if you use the Gen.Y DualBOOT method, then you need to make the following registry change:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Gen.Y\DualBOOT, then change the "AndroidBootFolder" dword to 1. Soft reset. (Thanks clifftrue)

I have been trying to track down what chipsets the TP2 and Droid Eris uses, unfortunately other then the fact they share the qualcomm msm7600 I have not been able to find out about any other chips in either phone, and sad to say I have been researching this for a few hours now.

ok, so an idea hit me to look at the fcc filings. I don't really know what I am looking at with the chips in the pictures, but was hoping someone here might.

Don't know if this will help or not, but I had the same problem the first time I tried booting it up. I had to move all of my files off of my SD card and reformat the card then move all my files back to the card. After doing that it booted up the first time. It took 5-10 minutes the first time and then booted much faster after that.

Sometimes mine doesn't work unless I plug the phone in for the 1st boot.

My micro sdhc card keeps giving me problems with android, so I'm looking at getting another micro sd card. I'm just wondering if someone could reply or pm me a class 6 card that works for them? I'd prefer an 8gb card if possible. Does anyone use a transcend card?

im sure you all have heard this a million times but wouldn't it be so nice to have the Nexus one android on our phones? im sure the TP2 can handle it :) hopefully one day it will be a flashable rom without windows :)))
