hey makkonen thanks for all your help
i wanted to ask you, when i try rootfs from http://xdandroid.southcape.org/rootfs/
none of them work, i see you've worked on the latest ones from the commit log. any reason why they don't boot up with civic's build ? for upgrades should i stick to the zimage and modules?
also someone said earlier that we need to change the system.sqsh to get marketplace working but where can i get another one from ? previous builds? can i use the one from the CDMA Touch pro ? last time i tried it on the tp marketplace was working, with the 2 28 build i think.

also as far as getting data on another carrier, (metropcs for me) i see the settings from the vogue forum and i entered them but no changes, is that the RIL issue that wont let it connect to anything else ? or is it because they dont have 3g ? just the slowest internet possible lol

Don't work don't boot? Or don't work in some less dire way? I'm not exactly sure what's changed in his rootfs -- I know it points to a different RIL, but otherwise I'm not sure.

If you're booting from /sdcard/andboot/ instead of /sdcard/ then you need a new initrd.gz as well. Aside from that, I can't think of what else could be causing it to fail.

The system.sqsh thing was just me being optimistic -- it doesn't help. The market thing is another RIL issue.

Data on MetroPCS... if you need a username and password, I'm not hopeful that it'll work at this point, no matter what you do. I don't think it's EVDO vs 1xRTT, it's probably just something with the authentication process that's getting mucked up.

Just curious - anyone know if we can download desired android apps to our PC then transfer the file to our phone? If so what's a good source for app files?

Hey guy's just wondering is it possible I can place my android files in it's own folder yet like Sandisk/android/(all android) files. My memory stick is getting a little bit messy with all the android files and a file it produces for each boot.

i just changed the extracted folder to "Android" and put it on the root of my storage - storage card/Android and it's been working great.

you dont need market to get dolphin browser. Just go to http://slideme.org/ using the default browser and download the slideme market. Then you can find dolphin browser and install it through there... (thanks to Surge for pointing this out earlier). BTW, i find the default browser to be less choppy than dolphin on our tp2s.

So is it just driver issues that are keeping the back speaker from working?

From the home page, go to settings, keyboard & language, android keyboard settings and uncheck auto-complete

it doesn't work, i get one of those failed to mount rootfs on sd or somehting like that. cant remember the exact error
yeah metro requiers a username and password, proxy and port number.
that's cool though, i'm fine with updating the zimage and modules as they come along, no worries there. i'll wait for data and mms, gf and fam send pics none stop lol
but i like trying it out, it has been doin a softreset by it self, yesterday while i was on the phone from android it rebooted just android, not the phone. it just went back to the X startup animation. havent figured out why yet lol

is it possible to get other livewallpapers on this build and if so where? so far i've only seen starfield, but i'd like the grass, water, glow and nexus one animations. and what exactly is the difference between home and home plus?
