ok, so i got that answered, thank you. Next two questions, does anyone know how to make a shortcut for haret in my programs list? and does anyone know how to back up app data so I can save my robo defense progress when a new release gets put out? :D I have done searches and it looks like you can just grab the app from the applications directory, but I never really saw a definitive answer, so I though I would ask you guys.

for the shortcut just click and hold on haret till the menu comes up then go into the folder within the start menu items and hit paste as shortcut.

as for backing up the robo defense... not so much.

I asked this over on XDA, but it seems that this is the place to discuss Android on a CDMA TP2 since Civic is on this forum!

I played with haret back in the Vogue days, and I haven't honestly played with it again until recently... I'm trying to catch up fast, but I'm finding the latest Android build extremely laggy on my Sprint TP2.

I'm wondering- is this simply because the project is so early on in development, or is that to be expected with our hardware?

The vogue port seems much smoother, but I also understand that the Vogue has less than 1/4 of the resolution that we do. Without any hardware acceleration, are we up the creek as far as performance is concerned here? AFAIK, GPU acceleration for our hardware isn't supported in Android... and our processors aren't fast enough to make smooth WVGA transition effects without it.

Please tell me I'm wrong, because I'd love to be mistaken about this. Android has so much potential, and I love the idea of dual booting at some point when it is stable enough...

i just tried it on a Diamond2. it's surprisingly smooth, but does lag once in a while between transititions. but it's so awesome how you can download and use the free apps in the marketplace... really hope development progressses on the cdma side of things!

dzo was the one who the GPU enabled on the vogue, the best I could find from him explaining it was..from the vogue android thread.

"there is an rpc call (clk_regime_sec_grp_rail_on) that turns the power on to the graphics processor. This is what I mean by enabling the GPU. I got the GPU working in android by calling this function in trstai_extension.dll and tracing what it did."

Love how far this project has come in such a short time, thanx for all the hard work 95Civic!

I just wanted to add a few things I've seen on the VZW Touch Pro 2;

1. Screen does not seem sensitive enough, I've noticed this while playing a few games and was unable to answer an incoming call because the slider wouldn't slide out properly (almost as if I couldn't keep my "grip" on it).

2. If I have my SIM in the network shows up as Vodaphone and the phone will not register on the network. If I take the SIM out it will register on the network, but shows no network name. (Not sure this is an actual error, just what I'm seeing.)

Keep up the great work, you're already a hero on PPCGeeks. Can't wait to see that CDMA data!

Thank you so much for the hard work on this!

That being said I would really like to download it but Megaupload keeps resetting their server on me making it difficult to download. Anyone have a mirror for it or an alt. download link?

Thanks

As far as the screen goes, I think it just needs to be tweaked, but don't know how. I had the same issue, but was able to answer by hitting the call button. I did however have a couple times that my microphone cut out on me while I was talking. The first time an exception popped up, the second time my screen was black so I couldn't see anything.

I have also noticed that my screen does go black, but doesn't shut off the backlight when the power button is hit.

In case anyone using it hasn't tried, the windows key brings up a mini menu that you can change the wallpaper, adjust settings, bring up notifications, and I can't remember the rest, but the settings button is the quickest way to do the settings/mobile networks/select auto to get the phone registered. I have had to do this everytime I load up to get my phone registered. I wish I would have taken more programming classes, I would love to help with this project but I only took a low level class needed for my engineering degree.
