I don't know if this would help, but I thought it might be of note considering the Droid Eris is a CDMA device, and would also include the Sense UI for Android but I saw this post on XDA.

it has been mentioned that while the cdma variants source has been released not much can be done =/ though I am watching the gsm development threads closely in fact lemme check on today's zimages

Gotcha. I wasn't sure just thought I'd mention it, I know you are working really hard on this and anything to help would be great. I also have faith it will work out, it always seems to.
