Let me know if/how I can help troubleshoot. Perhaps studying log file after attempting to toggle netloc on/off? Do I need to increase verbosity level of logging? If so, how do I do that? Any idea of what I would be looking for in the log file?

Verbosity would have to be increased by hacking at the source, I'm not aware of any other way to increase verbosity.

I thought someone replaced the APK and it worked - I swear I tried this, and no effect. It's been a while since I looked at it tho.

Can you post or do you have a link to an APK that I can try? I've been unable to find one by searching.

I'll dig for it later. Last I saw there was one posted on XDA. Otherwise you'll just have to yank the one from FRX.

I pulled /system/apps/NetworkLocation.apk from FRX07.1 and installed in GBX0B. Resulted in broken system, endless bots-drawing-XDANDROID animation screen. Waiting on appropriate netloc APK.

Try with a new data.img. (Just rename so you can easily revert) If that doesn't work, it could be because everything is signed...

Started with fresh files from GBX0B bundle. Replaced system.ext2/apps/NetworkLocation.apk with that from FRX07.1 bundle. Booted HaRET & again got stuck in endless bots-drawing-XDANDROID. I gave it adequate time to finish 1st boot, and device kept 'bumping', which is not typical for 1st boot.

Do we need to find a netloc APK that's specific to GB or is the signing even more restrictive?

By the way, I foolishly neglected to make a backup before installing the FRX07.1 NetworkLocation.apk. I tried replacing the system.ext2 file with the bundled version, but that didn't stop the endless boot loop. Is my only option to start over now?

Did you delete your data.img after replacing the system.ext2 file? Not like you have anything you need to save on your data.img now .

I'll try mucking with this soon. I'm dangerous now, going to try to commit some things.
