Re: NAND Boot Testing - 12-14: Panel power on and off working on some devices

Kewl! Thanks!

Booting with new modules now...

Also, what's the deal with all them FSCK0000.REC files? I have been shutting the phone down propperly, seems to be on boot time..?

EDIT: It booted, screen on, came up to lockscreen and in portrait mode! :)

Trying the screen off and back on....

Noticed LauncherPro restarting one more time than usual...usually it does it twice, did it 3 times now...

Power button acts as HOME button. END button doesn't power off screen...

Auto Brightness lowers the brightness to lowest but screen stays on.

It is very fast and responsive!!! :)

Should I download the lcd app from market to switch from 210/240?

damn fsck on boot causes this. I get them randomly myself but i havent payed much attention to em. I guess now is a good time right :-). The power down isnt working 100% so that may be the root cause.

Thanks

Wow, it is so responsive I am going to keep this as daily! I dont mind carrying my charger around in the car just in case... :D

Great job!

EDIT: This is a question, trying to keep thread a bit cleaner... The POWER and END buttons, how can I switch them around? I know some devices don't have the POWER button at top but how can I switch the END/POWER?

Ehh thats a big change. User cant do it without re-compiling. Isnt the main haret kernel the same way or did i miss something ?

Re: NAND Boot Testing - 12-14: Panel power on and off working on some devices

No, it's the same, Im just asking if it's possible. But yeah, Haret does the same.

LCD DENSITY app from Market works great. Switched my density to 240. Used to that one... :)

Upon restart the phone was a bit slow at beginning, I guess it's a hit-n-miss deal?

EDIT:

Well, the screen now turns off with the END button. I used SPARE PARTS and set the phone to SLEEP when I press END. I had it going to HOME because POWER used to sleep phone...

All the days to have my microsd card reader with me and left it home today.

I used adb to push the new modules to the phone in /tmp but /sdcard is empty thanks to the usb. :/

Actually i think we are talking about two separate things. Maybe nate can clarify later. I just want to know if this behavior is different than from the haret kernel because that would mean i missed a patch somewhere.

[ACL] which behavior are you talking about?

I have Tinboot and xdandroid Dec16,2010 build on my TP2 right now, been using it all day! :) I used SPARE PARTS to get it to sleep programming the END button to SLEEP...

You have to make changes to the kernel and the rootfs to switch the buttons around. You'll have to manually change the msm-gpio-keys.c to undo this change (but git revert will not work since it has been changed since then): Commit in linux-msm in Linux on Qualcomm's MSM - Gitorious

Then for the rootfs, you need to comment the navi pads back out so they don't use the new files from: Commit in eclair-rootfs in XDANDROID Eclair - Gitorious

It became way too much work just to keep the old button mapping, so I gave up on keeping things the way they used to be.
