I use something called Scribe (marketplace) to type quick notes and it saves to a folder on the SD card.

I've been using an application called MobIsleNotes a backup, built-in automatic backup in the startup and exit, also allows manual backup to SD. Began to notice a list or plain text form. This is a bit primitive compared to MS, I used to use the program more attention, but it may work for you. There is also a Professional Edition, you can probably do more to pay.

I think Evernote is hard to beat. Not only is the note saved in the cloud but synced to the PC version. It's great to type your shopping list or whatever on your PC then have it available on your phone minutes later.

Not to mention the PC version's Chrome Extension so you can clip a web page or URL to Evernote and boom! it's there for your phone or work PC, etc.

Great app!
