use the newer beta posted. the other one has issues with groups and not seeing everyone in them.

the newer version has added history. the graphics have also been changed. we can add pictures now but only from the camera. so far, however, i cant figure out a way to save pics to my phone that has been posted by others.

all in all tho, a better version than the market.

for anyone interested. here's the link that they're currently using. they've already removed one of the directories. i'm thinking if we watch this, we can be current as they come out with betas. i check it everyday.

Yeah I noticed it was updated on July the 8th but theres no file for July the 8th ahaha.. sneaky one.

that's when they deleted a directory called "current". it was odd about that too. it had a newer date but it crashed more than the 0.0.3 version. i'm suspecting that's why they got rid of it.

I'd have to say geez.. wow lol wonder what they really are waiting for? another company to release a better IM application before them so they can lose users? the android market is currently hurting in lack of a good IM application IMO.

I hate this whole meeboo and nimbuzz applications. I want an application that isn't so heavy on usage and has skype with group chat support, I'll be happy with that! voice calling would be a good "paid" app option to me =P

I can ensure you the beta team and devs are all hard at work to bring you this app as fast as possible...but I agree it is taking long but the team that was there before just did a bad job which is the reason why they got a whole new team..

Well hell. I just found something new that i didn't notice before. They added admin and mod rights (partially), you can grant admin and mod but no silence, kick or ban. It also shows all admins and mods in a group.

they added notification of a message. it's an annoying beep. i cant find where to turn if off at. perhaps it's a normal setting from somewhere else on the phone.

Just a heads up Dark, since you and me seem to be the only ones interested in Palringo around here :D here is the latest version, let me of any changes you might noticed.. I'm to tired finally got to the state of Indiana so I'm off to bed after a 12 hour flight ha..

ok. got it installed. the changed the intro screen and added a couple of new tabs and they added sound control for each group. there is still a LOT of stuff missing but as i've said before, it appears that they're adding one new feature at a time, then posting for testing. it's really not a bad way to go IMO.

a few of new additions:

1) separate notification per chat
2) chat text size
3) sound off and on for not only each group but now for each person in the list for each group.

still no settings for location, still can't download pics sent and still can't send pics from device.


they are still adding stuff bit by bit. heck, by 2012 they may have it completed. :)

haha completed by 2012.. :D I like that they are at least adding features slowly.. must help work out bugs that get introduced, rather than adding every feature at once.. then having to fix it all completely.

by sending pics you mean from your album or you cant send a picture you took? b/c option to send pic from album isnt there yet.

yea same here....i agree they are taking long to finish this app...they need to add some nice animations, smooth the graphics a bit more, and add a bunch of options

agreed. i guess they first team did suck a poor job with it's version, they want the new version to be as good as the wm. which is great. i miss it. lol

the new version of pal is available in the market. it looks identical to the latest beta that was released August 18th. Here's the long and short of it.

Adding pics from sim card is back.

Adding pics via camera appears to work (which did work with latest beta) but it really doesn't. on your end it puts them in but they never get sent through the server. So far, the only way to send pics from camera is to take the pic, then upload them from sim card (yeah, LAME!!).

Saving pics someone has posted has been added back.

There is still no location feature.

its been a while but.. hmm that beta on the palringo site updated on 10-08-2010 if you are interested darklord (: but strange there are two differrent files under the same date one so you might know the difference ;D?

weird. i tried both and as far as i can tell, they are exactly the same. what's different than the market version is they substituted "smiley" menu where the enter key was. when you press it, it brings up a menu of smiley faces.

thanks! I was about to post this earlier today but i was busy playing with my tmobile mytouch 3g slide :D Haha.. wow does tmobile beat sprints horrible data speeds :P

oh well I said it does since in my area with sprint I'd only ever average 500 kbps to 900 kbps download and 400 kbps upload to 600... with tmobile I get 3100 kbps to 5000 kbps download and 600 to 800 kbps upload haha, so for me yeah :P!

Ooo nice :) that is with the evo though right? 4g :P! I wouldn't have switched from sprint if i had at least decent 3g speeds but hey... duty calls! getting the the vision g2 soo so I'll hopefully get hdspa+ or w.e (:
