Same way as you did the ROM flash. From what I have read different radios can offer better signal, data speeds or battery life (due to better signal strength.) This post has the available radios:

Lot of people have good luck with the Telus radio. I tried the Sprint 1.11 since I am in the DC/Baltimore areas and I saw someone who tested them all and that worked best for him. Figured I would see if it makes a difference and worst case I can go back to my original one or try another. Data speed tests were a little faster for me on 1.11, I have to wait until I leave the house to check signal strength since I have an Airave at home.
