I have found the best battery life/signal quality/least dropped/'invisible' calls using the Telus V1.04.05V radio on my refurb Sprint Touch Pro. I've tested all of the radios thoroughly (at least a full day per, in consistent conditions). However, your mileage may vary.
Edit: I'm located just south of Atlanta, GA. Location seems to make a difference. I suggest testing every radio with your selected ROM (even if its a stock ROM), then formulating your own conclusions.
