I mentioned before that I have had good luck with three different waters
Color water at 150, time depends on color and desired darkness
Hot rinse, Boiling water, 13-25 seconds
Cold rinse, till the cover cools off

The Hot rinse helps seal the color IMO. This is common to do to seal the color in anodizing, and most of the home anodizers use these same dyes.
