BigD what Im saying is that you could try the apaches dialer on ur treo urself. Check these screens shots below. These are taken on my apache. The first ones are the standard apache dialer, the below is the treos dialer on the apache. Note the differences in carrier name size, phone number while being dialed is in a different place, and the buttons as stated in the first post.

This is the Treo dialer, not that monstrosity you posted, LOL:

I've had the treo for a total of 7 months now (w,wx) and have maybe seen that dialpad twice!
