Good Afternoon All,
First and foremost, this is my first post so i'd like to start off by extending my gratitude and thanks to all of those who help, develop, contribute, and participate in this community. About 2 weeks ago I stumbled upon ppcgeeks after having an issue with my HTC Mogul. Since then, i've managed to unlock, flash, relock....rinse and repeat. Again, thank you to all
Now onto topic at hand.....I will start this off with a brief summary of my situation. My sprint HTC Mogul is one of two Sprint business lines my company has activated (the other is the President). Aside from that, we have 26 Nextel lines activated.
About a month ago, my mogul started having an issue where typing on the keyboard became a chore. I ruled out a hardware issue as everytime a soft reset would fix it. IMO, it seemed that it was a two fold issue: memory leak and a software issue with switching networks. I live right near the Michigan/Canada border so its not uncommon to switch between "roaming" and sprint pcs. I found the the lag always seemed to occur after a network switch. That brought me to this site.
About a week ago, my USB port in the mogul began flaking out. Any movement of the phone would lose the connection between mogul and PC. On Tuesday, I had had enough and went to my local sprint store. Since it is a business line, we have TEP. After the techs checked it out, Sprint ordered a replacement at no cost to myself or my company. This brings me to yesterday.
After work, i went to pickup my new phone (hoping it would be a TP but it was a refurb mogul). After they activate it, I thanked them and left. About a mile down the road I plugged it into my car charger and got nothing. After pulling over and hooking it up to my laptop with same results, nothing. The USB port was 100% shot and jiggled around like it was about to fall out. I work in sales so having 100% access to my email, etc is critical so i went back to the store.
At this point, I explain to the rep that new phone has same problem but worse. I sit there for 45 mins while techs look at it until they come out with ANOTHER mogul. They assure me everything is working perfectly. So I get out to my car and yes, USB port works. I check the device information and it has someone else's username (xxxxxxx@sprintpcs.com). I try voicemail to test activated number....sigh....it's someone else's phone basically.
So I go BACK into the store and wait another 15 mins. The tech comes out, apologizes, and i'm on my merry way with the 3rd mogul i've had my hands on in one day. On my ride home, I discover my stylus does not stay inserted in the phone, "caps lock" light on keyboard is stuck glowing, USB port is flaking out(!) and soft reset button works if you're Irish and have a four leaf clover in your front pocket. Oh well, just deal with it for the night.
So today I call our account rep and explain everything to her. Basically said I understand they have a limited flow of refurb moguls but I can't keep going from bad phone to bad phone. She agrees, says she will ship a replacement. So, here I sit again except this time, waiting for Tuesday, hoping more than ever it's not a mogul.
Sorry for the long vent! Just a tad frustrated and thought the details could be beneficial to all. I will advise whether or not I receive a mogul once "new" phone arrives
