I mean how does the TOTAL memory change from ROM to ROM?
I always thought total memory would be hardware controlled?

Juicys ROM has the latest and greatest apps from the TP2 or Tachi. For eg the new contact card itself with all the application associates with it takes up to 10~16 MB i believe. Rhodium manila with all the added features takes more storage space than Sprint stock Manila . Im not sure about the dialer it might be a slight difference. So all these new stock HTC apps makes a big difference in the storage.
Now when it comes to available memory RAM to run programs it depends on what pagepool uses i believe Juicy uses a 16 MB pagepool as it says on the change log and more programs you use more memory it drains. Turn of Push internet if you dont really use it from the internet tab settings. I use active sync to sync with my exchange servers and that drains a good chunck of the memory and battery life.
Thats my knowledge on how memory works. I could be totally wrong but if anybody else whats to add im sure it would be helpful for other users.
