Re: Pushemail and IM apps.
For IM I would say try Fring I like it and I also have palringo and use the stock IM that came with the phone. And as for push email I know hotmail push out on the tp(well mines set to as come for new emails) and have my gmail set to check every 5mins and still get good batt life during the day.
