I have kept a running conversation of all my texts, but I do let all my texts load after a ROM flash and, still, have had this problem as well.

But seanosaur may be onto something here with the amount of texts stored in the phone being related to text message lockup. Methinks we need to probe that theory a little more to see if the solution lies therein
