I think its a bit MORE addicting than crack... Anyways, just be sure to back up any info you don't want to loose. As far as contacts and messages go, I recomend PIMbackup. Like someone said above, bricking your phone is unlikely, if you do brick your phone go buy a lottery ticket. Battery life may or may not improve with a new rom, I usually see an improvement though. There's a thread floating around here somewher that a bunch of users (myself included) contributed their thoughts of which WM6.5 roms were the best and why. Happy flashing!
