so, i spent about an hour and came up with this. it works pretty well. unfortunately, i haven't gotten rid of the yellow sprint screen that comes up on first boot (probably ROM embedded, is my bet), but i did switch the splash with my custom one, lol. i wonder what other gems i'll notice i can switch out while picking through my registry...
