If nothing else...there is a newer radio version that the one you are using.
It's v1.10
I flashed it and have had great results thus far. Better reception. Better battery. Less heat when using my phone.
I also am on Mighty ROM 5...which has helped with the aforementioned as well...but the radio MAY be a good step for you depending on how it works in your area.
